Assignment 22A Elevator Pitch No. 3

Assignment 22A Elevator Pitch No. 3 https://youtu.be/_1s_WOgnDh4 Reflection on feedback from Pitch No. 2 I received some positive comments about my second elevator pitch.  My first pitch did not have good lighting or sound projection and there was a lot of background noise because I chose to video the pitch outside.  My peers commented on the quality of the second pitch compared to the first.  One peer mentioned I had good eye contact and a professional demeanor.  According to another peer, I improved my pitch by projecting my voice better in the second pitch.  Other feedback included mentioning price and where geographically my business would be located along with something about the experience.  What I changed based on feedback? Based on the feedback I received, I added to this elevator pitch where my business would be located and included basic level price for small tattoos.  I could have included more but I thought it would be risky to...

Assignment 21A Reading Reflection No. 2

Assignment 21A Reading Reflection No. 2 For this assignment, I chose to read and reflect on Cognitive Surplus "How Technology Make Consumers into Collaborators" 1) What was the general theme or argument of the book? There are a few arguments Clay Shirky makes in this book beginning with how individuals make use of their cognitive surplus or free time stating that there are two billion people with an estimated trillion hours of cognitive surplus.  He goes on to say the largest amount of that time was spent on watching television which produces virtually no added cultural value.  While with the advent of technology, opportunities have emerged for individuals to cognitively engage and participate and collectively share on a large scale producing cultural value and perpetuating change.  He also discussed how we, as humans, like to consume but we also like to produce and share. The internet has made it possible for amateurs to do things only professionals could do in th...

Assignment 20A Growing Your Social Capital

Growing Your Social Capital Domain Expert: 1.  Theresa Helsel is a Physician Assistant at Sand Lake Dermatology in Orlando, a provider of medical, surgical, cosmetic services. 2.  Theresa has worked in the industry for the last several years.  The practice previously provided tattoo removal but is no longer offering this type of laser treatment because they were renting a laser and it proved to be too costly and labor intensive so they decided not to provide these treatments and instead to partner with a laser centered practice to whom they refer some individuals for treatment. 3.  I found Theresa through a running friend who works for Track Shack and they partner with professionals in the Central Florida area. I showed her my elevator pitch and she said she could put me in contact with Theresa. She asked Theresa if she would spend some time with me to hear about my idea and provide me with feedback. 4.  Theresa was wonderful.  She explained the good...

Assignment 17A Elevator Pitch No. 2

Assignment 17A Elevator Pitch No. 2 https://youtu.be/k5wNWoU-X4I Reflection on the feedback I received from my last pitch.  My first elevator pitch took me a long time to record because I felt so awkward doing a video of myself.  I must have recorded it 25 times.  I received some positive feedback from my peers.  However, one of my peers brought up a great point.  Many people like their tattoos and she is absolutely correct.  These individuals would not fit my market segment and therefore would not be a customer for my product.  I also received other feedback that was quite helpful.  Suggestions like zooming in because I was too far away and the need for less distraction were part of the feedback. I chose to do my pitch outside and there was noise in the background which caused distractions.  Some other items I could have done a better job with was clarifying was my market, adding more about the solution, and talking about the servic...
