Assignment 15A Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

15A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2 Report findings:    I found these interviews to be challenging but helpful. In my interview with Alissa, we talked about if she were to have her tattoos on her neck removed she would want to do a lot of research because the process of laser removal is painful and time consuming.  In discussing alternatives, she mentioned that price would be of concern because it is quite expensive and there is no real guarantee that the finished product will be satisfactory.  She said she would most definitely go to a facility with a lot of experience and that she would want to speak to previous customers to get feedback so certainly quality is also a huge factor.  She said the most important factor was quality but price would play an important part of her decision making.  She did say she might consider financing as a payment option.  My second interview with Amy was the most fun.  She is someone I think would be a...

Assignment 14A – Halfway Reflection

Assignment 14A – Halfway Reflection 1)  Tenaciousness is a competency.  What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course? ENT3003 is a course that requires one to critically think.  Unlike other courses, this course has no text book but there is so much research and reading necessary if one wishes to achieve the greatest success in the course.  I have had to be especially organized and with time and I have had to prioritize each task for assignments, manage other classes, work, and home responsibilities.  I have had to develop higher level technical skills and diligently push through some unexpected mishaps which has helped me become not only a stronger student but a stronger individual.  I continue to persistently and consistently complete assignments determined to make the most of this entrepreneurship experience.  I would say to someone looking to take this course, you will never ...

Assignment 13A – Reading Reflection No. 1

Assignment 13A – Reading Reflection No. 1 What surprised you the most? I chose Shoe Dog Phil Knight: A Memoir by the creator of Nike  for this reading reflection.  I love to run and I love a good running shoe so this book jumped off the list begging to be read.  I was so captivated by Phil's account of his life's work that I read the book over three days at weeks end, finishing the last chapter upon waking on a Sunday morning.  I think what surprised me most about the entrepreneur, Phil Knight, is that he seems so unsure of himself and all of the early entry, start up individuals who he handpicked to to be a part of his journey all had that in common with the exception of his coach, Bill Bowerman who was Nike's co-founder and chief innovator.  I had heard the waffle iron story before but never as vivid as what I read in this book. I will never look at the soles of my running shoes the same way. What about the entrepreneur did you most admire? ...

Assignment 12A Figuring Out Buyer Behavior Part 1

Assignment 12A Figuring Out Buyer Behavior Part 1 Selecting a Segment For my venture, I chose to focus on the segment of women over the age of 30 with tattoo regret that is significant enough that they want to remove their tattoos.  They also have to have the means (money) to be able to have the tattoos removed. Next, they have to be patient because the process involves a number of sessions with waiting periods in between. I found is that my segment is very small and it was difficult to find people to interview with the unmet need.  I was able to speak with three women who have the unmet need    Interview Information   I was able to gather some interesting information in my interviews with these women.  The first woman (Lucinda) I met through a server at our favorite restaurant.  She said she had tattoo regret  and wanted the tattoo removed for many years.  It was her ex husband's name and they had been divorced for four years,...

Assignment 11A Idea Napkin No. 1 1) You. Who you are. What your talents are. What your skills and experiences are. Also: what are your aspirations? Specifically regarding your business concept, how do you see this business (if you were to start it) playing a role in your life? My name is Stephanie Frechette and I am attending UF Online as a Business of Administration major with a minor in Educational Studies.  One of my special gifts is working with special needs individuals.  I currently work with elementary age students with autism.  I find these special children to be amazing and I am fascinated by what they teach me every day.  I have managed a business with my husband in the past and I enjoy business so here I am, in my 50's, back in school and excited to learn more about the world of business.  I also think I have a gift for seeing things through to the finish.  I enjoy other people and I truly feel passionate about making a mea...

Assignment 9A Testing the Hypothesis Part-2

Testing the Hypothesis Part-2 Who:  In this round of interviews, I narrowed my search for individuals to only females who were over the age of 30.  Christy 38, Amanda 35, Ledarcy 41, Debbie 51, and Stacy 55.  In the first round of interviews, I found there are multiple markets so limiting my interviews to a specific gender and age group helped me focus more closely on which market I thought would be a better target audience.  I found there are definitely groups even within my groups that fall outside the boundary. While this group of women share many of the same beliefs and they all have tattoos, only Christy said she would want to remove hers.  She said she was young and she got it with some girlfriends on a trip in college.  She said she really did not want to get it but she gave in to peer pressure.  Her cancer sign tattoo is on her ankle and it is only about the size of a silver dollar but she does not like it.   Amanda really does...

Assignment 8A - Solving the Problem

Assignment 8A - Solving the Problem The problem I found to be an opportunity involves people who have tattoo regret here in the U.S.  While only about 25 percent of the people I interviewed expressed regret, I believe that there is a large enough population to verify there is a problem to solve.  Based on my interviews, it seems that tattoo regret would be more prevalent among women over the age of 30 so that would narrow the market I would serve. In order to solve this problem, I would propose opening a tattoo removal clinic/salon where individuals can undergo treatment to have the unwanted tattoo removed via laser treatment.  Because tattoos are ever-increasing among millennials and even other age demographics, I believe there will be an increased need for removal clinics or salons.   I believe there could be additional services added such as laser hair removal, and/or skin care products for therapeutic repair. Possible partnership opportunities m...
