Assignment 7A Testing the Hypothesis, Part 1 Tattoo Regret Opportunity:  In the United States, there is an increasing number of people who have tattoos and of that population, there is a percentage who have regret about one or more of their tattoos because of why and when they got the tattoo, the meaning behind the tattoo, or may not have really carefully considered it before having it done. The who:  individuals with tattoos The what:  Tattoo regret of some individuals who have them The why:  significance of the, possibly age when the tattoo was done, the amount of time spent considering the tattoo, professional reasons, etc. Testing the who:  There are increasing numbers of people who have tattoos, now estimated at 48% of Americans according to Dalia Research in 2018.  This exists not only in the U.S. but across the globe with Italy and Sweden ranking above the U.S. according to the study.  The "who" in my opportunity will be examining the ...

Assignment 6A Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends

Economic trend : “Economic impact of cyber crime is significant and rising” written by Warwick         Ashford 02/21/2018 source: https://www.computerweekly.com/news/252435439/Economic-impact-of-cyber-crime-is-significant-and-rising   A)  Computer Weekly posted an article that confirmed information I had recently read in Inc. concerning the increasing cyber-attacks and the effects on the economy. The study showed attacks up on average about 11 percent a year for the last 3 years. What’s worse it that it is so under reported. Many people/businesses do not even realize they have been the target of cyber crime.  B)  I believe there is an opportunity because there have been so many reports of breeches in the world of cyber. No one is immune to these attacks. Banks, academic institutions, fortune 500 companies, etc., they are all targets.  C)  I believe that any business that stores personal information, pay...

Assignment 5A – Identifying Local Opportunities Stephanie Frechette

Assignment 5A – Identifying Local Opportunities Stephanie Frechette "Entertainment options get ‘raw and primal’ – Smashing, stuff, throwing make adrenaline-filled entry into Central Florida” by Kyle Arnold of the Orlando Sentinel  https://infoweb-newsbank-com.lp.hscl.ufl.edu/apps/news/openurl?ctx_ver=z39.88-2004&rft_id=info%3Asid/infoweb.newsbank.com&svc_dat=WORLDNEWS&req_dat=0D0CB57BE7FF6D8A&rft_val_format=info%3Aofi/fmt%3Akev%3Amtx%3Actx&rft_dat=document_id%3Anews%252F1712148F1EC08730 This article, written on January 23, 2019, concerns the onset on new businesses that are penetrating the local market as a new form of entertainment which involves high-adrenaline activities including ax throwing, smash rooms and venues where people can go to socialize, fantasy play and “blow of some steam” in a violent sort of way. There are already a few of these businesses in Central Florida and another business is on its way to becoming a reality in St. C...

Assignment 4A Forming an Opportunity Belief Stephanie Frechette

Assignment 4A Forming an Opportunity Belief I have a belief that customers who purchase gas at Seven Eleven convenience stores need to be able to use the credit option on a bankcard to pay for their gas. It is not an option at the Seven Eleven stores where I have gone to purchase gas. I go there because sometimes it is less expensive (and I love Slurpee’s).  The unmet need is that unless a customer uses another form of payment, he/she is forced to use the debit option on his/her bankcard. I believe customers who do not have another form of payment have the need to use the credit option on their bankcard. Since customers may not have a credit card or cash to pay at the pump there is a need. Many people don’t even carry cash anymore because there are so many electronic forms of payment. I believe there is a need because 1) it is unsafe to use a debit card at the pump because of “skimmers”, unethical hackers who have PIN readers who steal card numbers and PINs. Debit card...

Assignment 3A - Your Entrepeneursip Story Stephanie Frechette

Assignment 3A – Your Entrepreneurship Story  Stephanie Frechette My story about entrepreneurship begins many, many years ago, in fact, about 30 years ago which is when I married my husband, Ron. Little did I know I would be married to a serial entrepreneur. I have always admired his ability to connect people with other people or opportunities which is one of the reasons I think he took his first plunge into the world of entrepreneurship. In the year 2000, he started a recruiting firm in the healthcare field and there was such a high demand for qualified candidates he thought he could seek out these individuals and help companies find the right employees for their organizations. He started working out of our bedroom and then built an office in our garage where he hired his first employee (not including me…I was free help). It wasn’t long before he leased some commercial office space and within a few years we had several employees. He still has a recruiting firm but he has si...

Assignment 2A - Bugs List Stephanie Frechette

Assignment 2A - Bugs List    Stephanie Frechette  1. The industrial carpet cleaner at the elementary school where I work smells something like vomit every time I need my alphabet rug cleaned. Why does it exist? It could certainly be that the matter that is being sucked out may consist of things like vomit and such but custodians swear they clean the machine regularly 2. Every time I turn on the television in my bedroom the cable provider has the DVR box set so that the channel may not be changed from the provider’s new channel for nearly 5 minutes. Why does it exist? The cable provider may want to bump up ratings on its own network. 3. I live on the fairway of a golf course and golf balls regularly pummel my house and sometimes hit my jeep and have even broken windows. Why does it exist? The first reason it exists is that “I live on a golf course” but I live about 200 yards and to the left of the tee box so another reason is that the ...
